Building Rentals
You are welcome at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Lawrence! With our attractive pastoral setting just south of Lawrence, award winning architecture, and ample parking for 80 cars, we are the convenient and accommodating place for your next gathering. We welcome rental requests for weddings, memorial services, and other special events like birthdays, anniversary parties or family reunions. Your organization, club, or civic organization is also welcome for one-time or recurring meetings and events. Musical events such as concerts and recitals are also welcome.
For weddings, memorial services, or other celebrations, our Events Coordinator will work with you from start to finish assuring that all details are covered. For organizations that wish to hold recurring events, we offer a discounted rate.
Space at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Lawrence may be rented by any group or individual whose purpose, goals, ideals, or philosophy is consistent with the broad ideals of UUCL.
We have theater style seating for ceremonies and presentations in our Sanctuary for up to 175 guests. We can accommodate up to 80 people in our Founders Hall space. Each of these spaces may also be used for socializing or complete meal service. Our modern kitchen is available for preparation of drinks and snacks or to facilitate your own caterer setting-up and serving your group. That may include alcoholic beverages of your choice as well as rental of dishware. Our attractive deck and spacious private lawn with mature shade trees are enjoyed by visitors nearly nine months of the year.
Our professionally engineered and installed audio-visual equipment provides the latest video projection, including receiving and projecting off-site events that are live streamed to our A/V control booth. The services of an A/V technician can be added to your rental agreement to assist with A/V presentations and live or recorded music. Rental of the Sanctuary includes use of our grand piano.
As a non-dogmatic religious institution, we encourage committed couples, regardless of their faith traditions or orientations, to meet with our minister to arrange a beautiful and appropriate ceremony that honors the institution of marriage while respecting diversity of beliefs. Our understanding and compassionate professional staff is sensitive to each couples’ expectations.
